In a strategic move aimed at attracting new students, BA ISAGO University recently hosted its annual Career Fair, an event that underscored the institution’s unwavering commitment to empowering future professionals and guiding them towards purposeful careers.
The fair served as a critical meeting point between the university and hundreds of Form 5 school leavers and other prospective students who are at the crossroads of choosing both a career path and an academic home.
It was under the theme 'Bridging Education to Industry: Empowering Future Professionals'.
BA ISAGO Public Relations Officer, Carol Kgafela, explained that the event was designed to provide an immersive introduction to diverse industries, academic offerings, and career opportunities available through varsity’s programmes.
“The fair served as a platform to guide and inspire young people as they prepare to make one of the most important decisions of their lives (choosing the right institution and career direction).
“It was about helping them envision their future with BA ISAGO as their partner in that journey,” she said.
At the heart of the initiative was a strong recruitment focus, as the institution seeks to draw in the next wave of students ready to begin their tertiary education journey.
Through interactive booths, live industry engagement, and direct access to academic staff, students were encouraged to ask questions, explore study options, and make informed decisions about their future.
The event also doubled as a strategic opportunity for the university to communicate its institutional message.
“The fair was guided by the theme bridging education to industry: empowering future professionals,” Kgafela said.
“This encapsulated our aim of helping prospective students understand how their choice of tertiary education will influence their career opportunities tomorrow.
“We also reinforced our institutional promise.”
A notable feature of the fair was the spotlight on key sectors shaping Botswana’s development agenda that include finance, legal services and education.
By aligning with high-demand industries, the university demonstrated its awareness of market needs and its readiness to equip students with relevant, future-focused skills.
From the strong attendance to the active participation of both students and parents, the fair reflected a successful push in BA ISAGO’s ongoing student recruitment drive.
Kgafela noted that the engagement levels were a clear indication that the university’s message resonated with the prospective learners.
“We are confident that our message was received loud and clear. The energy and engagement from the prospective students were a strong indication that we struck the right chord.
“They asked questions, explored booths, and showed real interest,” she said.
