The team landed on Wednesday and has since settled into their base camp in the northern coastal city, brimming with focus and national pride.
This marks Botswana’s third appearance at WAFCON, with the team aiming to build on their historic 2022 performance that saw them reach the quarterfinals for the first time.
Soon after arrival, the team wasted no time in shifting into gear. The first training session was held yesterday (Thursday) afternoon at the Stade de Marchan annex fields, focusing on light recovery drills, tactical shape, and acclimatisation to the North African climate.
A double session is expected today (Friday), including a closed-door evening drill aimed at fine-tuning attacking transitions and defensive compactness. The technical team has mapped out a structured training schedule that runs daily until the first match.
