Kgosi Puso Gaborone has told the community that they have a series of upcoming activation events lined up to raise funds for the big day, which is their 145 Anniversary party. He promised them a memorable and grand party that will get the country talking. He added that he has already placed some committees that are assigned to play different roles that will ensure the success of their party. He also added that different committees have already held meetings and even had a strategy workshop.

'In 2025, Molomo is one of the many events that we will be hosting this year. Our next event will be held in August, last Saturday of the month, where we will be hosting Mafifatshwana cultural festival. November 29, we will be celebrating 145 years of the existence of Tlokweng. There are many activation events that will be hosted here. You must know that we will also be celebrating the existence of Gaborone as it is part of our village. This is a year of celebration,' he said.

Kgosi Gaborone added that they intend to host Batlokwa from other counties such as South Africa, Zimbabwe and others to come and celebrate with them. He also said they will host a symposium and pilgrimage event in Tlokweng where they will have talks, learn and teach other about their roots.

Furthermore, he explained that they have to come up with projects that will bring in money. He told the audience that they have to contribute towards making the party a success and towards the betterment of their village. He told them that one of the projects they have to do include building a palace for their kgosi. He added that they will not only be doing that for him but the palace will be a pride symbol for them as Batlokwa not kgosi.

He promised that the 145 years celebration will be huge and a once in a lifetime experience. He also promised to sample to the tribe how him and his wife will dress to kill for the main event at the upcoming Mafifatshwana cultural event. He added that they will be hosting a launch of the events soon where they will also be showcasing this year's event merchandise saying other dikgosi from different tribes both nationally and internationally will benchmark from them.

He called on the community to start cleaning up the village. He said they must stop throwing laundry water everywhere, paint their houses, dry clothes at the back of the homes, remove dirt (dithothobolo) from households and clean their homes. He also added that they will soon be knocking on people's doors asking for donations to make the event successful.

Speaking about Molomo ceremony, kgosi Gaborone indicated that it was not the first time they host that event, revealing that they were hosting it for the third year. He added that in November last year, he asked the community to go and plough (go bolotsa Letsema). He explained that it was meant to thank Bogosi for the good harvest.

'The aim of this event is to come and show bogosi your harvest. We are aware that some of you faced challenges like insects eating your crops but you have to bring the little that we have. This event is meant to inspire the community to plough their own crops so that they can be able to feed their families,' he said.

'Bringing food here is so that we can feed underprivileged families with the little food we have. I have learnt that this year, we raised more than P40k all together from different wards in Tlokweng. This is not enough. I know that we can do better and want us to raise P100k next year,' he said. He also cautioned those who sell their farms and turn them into residential plots, saying they must be aware that they could produce a lot of crops in the lands.
