Police at the tourism village said the man was discovered hanging from the rafters of his house by his niece, who roused and stumbled upon the distressing scene. She quickly alerted her mother, who then reported the matter to the police. Upon arrival at the scene, officers transported the man to Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital, where doctors certified him dead on arrival. Confirming the incident that sent shockwaves through the community, Maun Police Station commander, Superintendent Joseph Lepodise said investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances that led to the man's death. He noted that the deceased did not leave any suicide note behind. Lepodise expressed concern over the increasing cases of suicide, particularly amongst the youth in his policing area. “We urge members of the public, especially the youth, to seek help when facing difficulties rather than taking their own lives,” he said.
