Following an impressive 2-0 win over Zone 14 FC in the tournament's final round, Thebephatswa FC walked away with P1,000.

Zone 14 FC took home P500, while Zola Kings received P250 for being the second runner up. The mini league was organised to give local young athletes a stage on which to display their abilities, enhance their talents, and cultivate a spirit of discipline and teamwork.

The tournament winners coach, Resego Mokgadinyane, stated that they were happy to have won the top four league.

He added that most of his strikers were nervous and failed to take advantage of the many chances they created. In order to prevent the emergence of social problems among young people, Mokgadinyane also urged parents to encourage their children to participate in sports like football. “Lots of children who are super talented end up ruining their lives by engaging on drugs and substance abuse at a tender age,” he continued.

Zone 14 FC coach, Karabo Phillimon stated that although they did not win, they performed incredibly well and are eager to make a huge return in the upcoming competition. He added such events give young players exposure with some ending up being scouted by teams in the Francistown Regional Football Association (FRAFA).

According to the league organiser, Kedumetse Morapetsane, the objective of the initiative is to keep Tonota's youth off the streets and be involved in productive endeavors.
