Gaothusi returned to her homeland yesterday following the month long competition with well wishers waiting for her at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport (SSKIA)., including the Minister of Youth and Gender affairs, Lesego Chombo and former Miss Africa 2024.

Upon her return, Gaothusi said despite not winning the competition she will forever be eternally grateful for having the opportunity to represent Botswana on an international stage.

“My journey at Miss World was incredible and nothing short of an amazing experience because I got the chance and opportunity to show the world what Botswana is and how much I love my country,” Gaothusi proudly said.

Gaothusi further said she has no regrets at all for how she faired on the international stage as in her view she did everything in her might to win.

“I am so so happy for what I have done at India. To add I am so fully proud to a lot of Batswana for how have they shown up for me for that my heart is white,” Gaothusi said.

Just like Gaothusi, the director of Miss Botswana Benjamin Raletsatsi said that the organization too is happy of how Gaothusi faired at Miss World. Raletsatsi further said there were lessons learnt also from the competition.

“I am a really happy for the job we did because we did not go there to just participate but to win and we did all that needed to be done to win. But as you know it was a competition and it wont go your way,” he said.

He further said, “We are happy with what Gaothusi’s has done and as a country we are happy as well because we managed to showcase our country to the world,” Raletsatsi emphasized.

He added that Botswana will continue to search for the coveted Miss World title and will not throw in the towel yet despite falling short in the past.

“We will continue competing for this crown. We had thought we got it with (Lesego) Chombo same with Gaothusi as we did what was expected of us to do,” Raletsatsi said.
