Mogaleemang from CBD resturant was one of the 10 contestants who displayed his art of grilling chicken using the special Nando's sauces with rich and tasty flavour. He was crowned the master griller in the Nando’s Botswana Griller’s challenge 2025. With the heat turned up, he now prepares to represent Botswana in Scotland.

The young man emerged victorious at the 2025 National Grillers’ Challenge, proudly earning the prestigious title of Botswana’s Master Griller and securing a spot to represent the nation at the International Grillers’ Challenge in Scotland.

The highly anticipated competition unfolded over two fiery days, starting with the semi-finals on May 23 at the Main Mall, where the top 10 grillers from across Botswana showed off their grilling skills while the crowd cheered. The grillers displayed an exhilarating talent as they prepared a variety of Nando’s flame-grilled chicken cuts with precision, flavour and flair.

From that heated battle, the top five grillers advanced to the finals on the next day at African Mall, where they competed head-to-head for the national title. The event was filled with celebration, emotion and fierce competition as each finalist brought their absolute best to the grill. After much anticipation and intense judging, Mogaleemang stood out from the flames and was crowned 2025 Master Griller.

Joining him on the winners’ podium were Sekgele Mfaladi of Mogoditshane who scooped second place and Matthews Matebu from Sunshine in third position, Gabriel Mmereki from African Mall got position four while Thuto Keikanetswe also from African Mall took position five. They all received certificates, medals and cash prizes in recognition for their incredible performance and dedication to their craft.

The Grillers’ Challenge continues to be a powerful platform to celebrate the passion, skill, and excellence at Nando's. This year’s competition was nothing short of spectacular.

In line with its commitment to giving back, Nando’s Botswana also continued with its annual community outreach by donating essential food items to the Ramotswa Centre for Deaf Education, supporting over 120 children as part of its broader social impact efforts. As usual, the event was filled with songs and dance from supporters thereby encouraging contestants to do their best. The happiness and energies displayed by the staff was a testimony that indeed the challenge was one of the events in their calendar they always look out for. Even though different grillers from different branches compete for the crown, the competition surely united and promoted group work amongst its staff.
