The Alarm Boys faced an uphill task in the final day of the FNB Premiership trying to rescue their status. They needed to win the last match with at least nine goals and hoped that BDF XI lost to Matebele on the same day. However, they could only settle for a draw in an entertaining match against Santos. BDF XI on the other hand beat Matebele 1-0 to retain their status in the elite league. Speaking to Sport Monitor after the match, Bothasitse said there are things that happened this season that need to be corrected. He also said he could not open up about them in the media. “But it is something that is not that difficult. We will have to go and sit down (and correct). For instance, we let our quality players go because the team was going through some difficulties. We failed to acquire certain players whom we targeted and they were willing to come. But because of the circumstances that we found ourselves in, we did not do as much as it was required,” Bothasitse said.

Bothasitse said at the moment they would not want to do many things at the same time. He stated that the focus at the moment is on the Orange FA Cup and every thing else will follow suit. “We need to go and concentrate on the FA, put more energy on it. After we have finished everything, you call a meeting and talk about this whole thing. It is something that is not going to be difficult because even the leadership acknowledges that here we went wrong and it is something that we can fix. So let us go and re-group and fix it,” he said. Systems joined Santos and Chadibe FC in the lower division.
