In one incident, a 28-year-old woman of Tshikinyega ward was attacked and raped early Saturday morning. On the fateful morning, the woman was walking home alone from her boyfriend’s place in Bokaa ward following a misunderstanding.

Mahalapye Central Police Station acting commander, Superintendent Moatlhodi Onalenna, said the victim and her boyfriend had gone to a local club. He added that afterwards, the pair went to the boyfriend’s residence.

Onalenna said later on the couple had a misunderstanding and the victim decided to go home around 4am.

'Whilst walking home the victim met a stranger who dragged her to a nearby unoccupied house where he subsequently raped her and fled the crime scene,' he said.

'Investigations into the matter are ongoing to locate and arrest the suspect who is still at large.'

Meanwhile, Moatlhodi revealed that they were also investigating another rape case which occurred recently in which a 17-year-old girl was also attacked and raped in Boseja ward.

He said it was whilst walking to church around 5pm when the teenage girl met a stranger who also dragged her to a nearby bush and raped her.
