Mogoditshane Police Station commander, Superintendent Mbiganyi Letsholathebe confirmed the incident, saying the matter was reported to the police by the victim around 9pm.
The victim informed the law enforcement officers that the two had a misunderstanding, during which the suspect allegedly uttered life threatening words at knife point, Letsholathebe said.
'She told us that during the argument, the suspect said, ‘Ha o sa bue nnete, kamoso nna le wena re tlabo re seyo mo botshelong’, which translates to, 'If you don't tell me the truth, tomorrow you and I will not be in this life,'' he explained.
Letsholathebe added the woman managed to flee the scene and rushed to the police station to report the matter.
'Officers promptly responded and arrested the suspect later that same night. The suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
'He is expected to appear before the Extension 2 Magistrate’s Court anytime this week,' he said.
Letsholathebe advised members of the public to resolve domestic disputes peacefully and report any threats or acts of violence to authorities.
