As it is a norm, the event is a charity one that has previously given back to the less privileged and also tried improving some upcoming artists' lives. Speaking at the event’s press briefing at the Grand Palm hotel on Wednesday, he announced that this year with the aid of Diamond Migration, they will build a house for the less privileged. He explained that they were currently working with the relevant authorities to identify a person or family they would be building a house for. He said the house would be handed over before the main event.

“For years since the very first installment of Last Man Standing event, we have been giving back to those in need. We gave away a car to one of the local artists during our first edition while we did the same for an artist living with disabilities on our second event. Last year we decided to take a young lady to school to study a teaching related course and we are keeping up with how she is doing and always make sure we pay both her school fees and allowance to make her stay in Gaborone smooth,” he said. Vee Mampeezy added that even though he gives back to the community every year, it was not a smooth sail as it came with some challenges. He added that it needed passion for one to succeed. Even though the Diamond Migration company would be sponsoring the event, he called on more businesses, the government and individuals to come forth and lend a helping hand. He also said since they were getting sponsorship from a Zimbabwean company (Diamond Migration), this year a number of Zimbabwean artists will be engaged to perform at the event. He explained that the decision also came forth after realising that a number of Zimbabwean citizens reside in Botswana and as such he saw it fair to bring their favourite artists to perform at the event. He called on the Zimbabwean nationals residing in the country to attend the event in numbers.

Furthermore, Mampeezy said unlike in the past, this year they intend to start their event early so that they could accommodate families. “This year, we will be hosting our event early so that parents can bring their children with them. They can take them back home in the evening when the night festival resumes. This is a charity festival so it should accommodate everyone. We want parents to bond with their children whilst enjoying the festival. Furthermore, unlike in the previous years, we will be bringing forth a lot of upcoming artists so that we give them exposure while we will be having only one artist from South Africa,” he explained. For his part, Vecco Lupa from Diamond Migration said his company will sponsor two Batswana to go and study in India as part of their support for the event. He added that as a social media influencer, he would be helping in pushing the marketing strategies for the event.

He also said through the event, he would like to see local and Zimbabwean artists performing alongside each other. April Gates thanked the organisers for giving young talents like herself an opportunity to showcase at an event of such great magnitude. She called on the public to attend the event in large numbers and support its good course. The event will be held on November 1, 2025 and the venue is yet to be announced.
