According to Southern Divisional Traffic Officer, Assistant Commissioner Boiki Mojalemotho, the incident occurred around 6:10pm near King's and Queen's Bar at the same village.

He said the man was leaning behind the vehicle when a 64-year-old man, driving a Toyota Land Cruiser, accidentally reversed into him.

'After hitting him, the man fell to the ground and the driver drove over him,' Mojalemotho explained.

He added the victim sustained a fractured right leg and is currently hospitalised at Princess Marina Hospital.

Mojalemotho confirmed that the driver was tested for alcohol and was found to be sober at the time of the accident.
