Chokoma extends gratitude to Batswana

In a statement posted on his Facebook page, the artist revealed that 'after months of endless meetings and meticulous planning, Toro Music Festival became a living and breathing reality, bigger than he could have imagined. He therefore offered his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who had a hand in making it happen. 'A seed was planted and a dream was whispered into the wind creating a powerful chorus comprised of a shared vision, perseverance and faith in our artistic craft and flair. This dream found its roots in faith, The Ministry of Sport and Arts and the Honorable Minister Jacob Kelebeng had confidence in the power of music and culture gave us the courage to proceed. It found strength in the unwavering support of Minister Tiroeaone Ntsima, who reminded us that when trade and creativity meet, great things happen,' he stayed.

Furthermore, he also extended his gratitude to Minister Motsamai Motsamai whom he said elevated his dream through generosity and guidance. He added that Motsamai's presence affirmed the importance of celebrating people's roots. 'Tau Grading came to the party providing a venue and a canvas to paint a picture of this momentous occasion which will go down in the history books of the Botswana music Industry. None of this would have been possible had it not been for Desmond Lunga and Salim Kegodile who helped build this from scratch with unshakable commitment and dedication. It came alive in light and sound, in design and detail, through the brilliance of Colours of Sound and Zonetwo Printers, ' he added. He also said they created more than infrastructure but a pure magic for the occassion. In the statement, Chokoma pointed out that the rhythm of the festival pulsed through the efforts of RB2, their passionate media team, and the incredible local artists who turned the stage into sacred ground. He said it reached the ears and hearts of thousands thanks to the incredible support of Yarona FM, who helped amplify this vision far and wide.

He explained that the he pre-event coverage by local broadcasters and publishers was also commendable and for that he said he would eternally be grateful to the media fraternity for their unwavering support. He added that the dream kept growing through the tireless energy of their sales agents and the creative power of the marketing team saying they did not just market an event but carried the entire movement. His gratitude message was also extended to the Botswana Entertainment Promoters Association (BEPA) and the Botswana Musician’s Union (BOMU), for their steadfast support and dedication to the growth of the music industry they all love. To the sponsors, partners and industry stakeholders, he said there was not enough word to express his gratitude with as he said he sincerely hoped thay was the beginning of a lucrative and mutually beneficial relationship where they would continue to grow, nurture and promote local talent.
