Chadibe’s doom day on the horizon

Rookies, Chadibe FC face the drop this weekend and could follow already condemned Uniao Flamengo Santos. The three teams will be relegated to the First Division and Santos made the early drop, with two more still facing the axe. Chadibe FC are amongst five teams in the relegation mix with Security Systems, BDF XI, Nico United and VTM FC still at risk of dropping to the second tier league. Chadibe's fate could be decided at the end of their 90 minutes of play against record league champions, Township Rollers this Saturday. The chop is on the horizon following a difficult debut season in the Premier League. Last year's celebrations when they achieved their maiden premier league promotion could turn into lamentations as Chadibe are in desperate need of maximum points against Rollers.
Chadibe sit in position 15 with a paltry 16 points. The team is six points behind fellow relegation candidates, Systems and eight points from safety. A win over Rollers will take the team to 19 points with nine to play for after the weekend's round of fixtures. Chadibe will, however, remain in the dreaded zone and will still need to win all their remaining games while hoping Systems drop points in their games. Furthermore, Chadibe's survival battle is not in their hands as they would need BDF XI to lose their game against Morupule Wanderers. The battle on the field is a mammoth one for the Premier League minnows. They face an unpredictable Rollers team that is in the midst of an ownership change following the departure of club investor and president, Tendai Sebata. Like a wounded buffalo, Popa would want to put their poor season behind them.
The team faces a trophy-less end to the season, a barren run that now stretches to four seasons. A win would boost the fan base's confidence in the team despite a poor season as the search for a new investor is expected to begin in earnest. Chadibe fell to a 1-0 defeat to their weekend's opponents at home in the first round match played in October. The slim margin defeat could spark some bit of confidence into the team heading into tomorrow's tie.
