Golden Boot race heats up

The left footed winger has been instrumental in Galaxy’s pursuit for another league title, scoring crucial goals, particularly in the second round of the season. Setsile currently leads the pack with 14 goals with four rounds of matches still to play. TAFIC’s Congolese goalpoacher, Jean Lwamba and Sua Flamingoes striker, Serati Semadi, are tied on 11 goals each. Lwamba set an early pace when the season started and has since proven that his early season heroics were not a fluke. He is among the key figures in TAFIC’s squad. He has been among the best signings of the season. His goals will be crucial as TAFIC chase their first ever Premier League title. They are currently sitting at position three with 52 points, two behind log leaders, Gaborone United and Galaxy. Semadi’s goals have also kept Sua Flamingoes in the race.

The striker was recruited from Jwaneng Young Stars at the beginning of the season. He had finished as the top goalscorer at the First Division South League and helped Young Stars win the league title. He, however, moved to Sowa Town after Young Stars decided to sell their Premier League status and returned to the lower division. He has once again proven that he has an eye for goals.

Meanwhile, Thatayaone Kgamanyane, once again sees his name appearing in the charts. The GU striker has been among the league’s consistent scorers in the past few seasons. This time around, he has scored 10 goals, four below the current leading goalscorer. Other notable names with a chance to lay their hands on the prize are Kelvin Ndebele (nine goals), Bonang Theetso (eight goals), Eric Ookame (eight goals) and Segolame Boy (eight goals). Surprisingly missing on the charts is back-to-back winner, Thabang Sesinyi.
