Moshupa family robbed at knife point

The incident occurred around 4:30am, shortly after the family had retired to bed following a night of drinking.

Police say the robbers, who had covered their faces with masks, forced entry into the home through a window whilst the family was asleep.

No.14 Assistant District Officer Commanding, Superintendent Elias Malope said after gaining entry into the house, the intruders threatened the victims at knife point and demanded money and electronic devices.

“They threatened the victims with knives but didn't physically harm anyone,” he told The Monitor.

The robbers made off with P2,000 in cash and four mobile phones before fleeing the scene. Police have since launched an investigation in a bid to trace and apprehend the suspects.

Malope urged members of the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhoods, especially during the night.

He further advised the public to make sure all of their doors and windows are tightly closed and locked before heading to bed as house break-ins remain a concern in the area.
