In an interview, the young artist from Thamaga, said he had been in the Gospel music industry for several years now, working tirelessly to create music that carries a spiritual message and reflects the beauty of traditional Gospel sounds. He added that the event in which he won the ward celebrated the best talents in the Gospel music genre, and saw a gathering of artists, producers, and fans from across the region. “I submitted my music for consideration earlier this year through the official awards application platform. The process involved submitting recordings, a biography, and a summary of my work as a Gospel artist. This award means a great deal to me. It is a reflection of the hard work, prayers, and passion I pour into my music. It also stands as a proud moment for Botswana Gospel music, showing that our sound and message are reaching beyond our borders,” he said.

Tshepozion also explained that his win is a testament to his dedication and artistry, resonating deeply with the audience through his inspiring music. He expressed his gratitude in a heartfelt statement, saying he was truly honoured to receive the award. He said it represents not just his hard work, but also the support of his fans and the entire Botswana music community. He added that he hoped to continue to uplift and inspire through his music. “This accolade highlights the growing presence of Botswana artists on the international stage and showcases the rich talent emerging from the region. My win is expected to pave the way for more recognition of the Gospel music from Botswana, inspiring upcoming artists to pursue their dreams. As fans celebrate this significant milestone, my career continues to flourish, and many look forward to my future projects that promise to captivate audiences around the world,” he proudly explained. He further stated that he felt incredibly humbled and grateful saying winning the award encouraged him to keep going and to continue creating music that touches hearts and uplifts souls. He added that it was a big motivation for him and hopefully for others in Botswana, too. Apart from singing Gospel, Tshepozion also works closely with community groups to promote Gospel music and cultural identity, and occasionally helps in organising music workshops and church events such as football tournaments under Zion Back2Skul Gospel Event brand name. Speaking of the challenges he faced, he pointed out limited platforms and recognition, especially when competing on a regional or international level as a major challenge.

He added that funding for production, travel, and promotion is a hurdle saying it hindered immediate success and growth. However, he said with passion and support from the community, they do push forward. He also said the award was his first and it was his first time applying for those specific awards, and for him to have won on the first attempt was truly a blessing. “I took a leap of faith, believing that my music could touch hearts beyond our borders and it did. While voting for this particular category is now closed, I encourage fans to stay updated through my social media pages for any upcoming nominations. Support by streaming, sharing my music, and spreading the word means a lot. I will provide details when public voting opens again in future award seasons,” he said.
