The matter landed on law enforcement radar upon Maun's Old Mall security guards lodging a report following the discovery of the deceased lying motionless behind the premises on one of their regular patrols.
Maun Police Station commander, Superintendent Joseph Lepodise said they received the report of the matter at around 6:30am.
His offers then rushed to the crime scene, took the deceased to Letsholathebe Memorial Hospital whereupon he was certified dead on arrival by the doctors.
Lepodise said the deceased had body injuries hence suspecting he was assaulted to death.
'He had a deep cut behind his right ear, another cut on top of his eye, and bruises all over his body hence we strongly suspect that he was assaulted and thereafter the suspect(s) left him to die,' Lepodise said.
'A team of investigators are working around the clock to establish what happened, and to locate and arrest the suspect(s).'
