The murder incident, which was reported on Sunday around 1:30am, occurred at a local bar in Lotsane ward in Palapye.
According to the police the duo were playing a game of snooker and had a misunderstanding that lead to an argument.
Palapye Central Police Station commander, Superintendent Tiro Kgang explained the fight allegedly occurred a few minutes before bar closure at midnight.
'It is alleged that whilst arguing, the teenage boy took out a knife and stabbed the deceased on his chest. He was rushed to Palapye hospital where he was certified dead on arrival by the doctors. Later that early morning we managed to locate and arrest the suspect who is currently in custody for investigations,' he said.
Kgang added the suspect, 19, is likely to be arraigned for murder before Palapye Magistrates' Court today (Tuesday) or tomorrow.
'I'm pleading with men to avoid carrying knives because we have since established that someone who is in possession of a weapon is always quick to use it when involved in a misunderstanding.
'Men continue to kill each other when having a fight because they are always in possession of offensive weapons, especially knives,' he said.
Kgang said knife crime remains a concern countrywide as people continue to wind up in situations involving a fatal stabbing, especially at entertainment areas.
'Our efforts to educate the public about violent crime, especially murder, continue to hit a snag as people continue to kill each other,' he said.
