Location: Maun, Botswana

Axio Energy Engineers Proprietary Limited is a provider of renewable energy solutions, specializing in the design, installation, and maintenance of photovoltaic (PV) systems. We are seeking a skilled Solar Technician to join our team.

Position Summary:

The Solar Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of medium-sized PV systems (30kW and above). This role requires a strong understanding of solar electrical systems.

Job Responsibilities:

*Conduct comprehensive site assessments and evaluate system feasibility

*Install, maintain, and repair PV systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

*Diagnose and resolve system performance issues

*Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance to maximize system efficiency.

*Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure successful project execution

*Maintain accurate documentation of installations, maintenance activities, and performance reports.

Work Environment:

This position is based in Maun and requires extended time spent in remote locations mainly within the Okavango Delta. Candidates should be prepared for travel and working in various weather conditions, for extended periods (often up to three weeks)

Qualifications:

*High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in solar technology preferred.

*Five years of proven experience in installing and maintaining medium-sized PV systems.

*Strong understanding of electrical systems and renewable energy technologies.

*Familiarity with safety protocols and electrical codes.

*Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
