Man attacks ex, faces threat-to-kill charge

The incident occurred whilst the 23-year-old was bathing at her home in Old Naledi, Gaborone on Saturday around 9:50pm when the suspect unexpectedly barged in.
No.13 District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Obusitswe Lokae said a heated argument started between the two former lovers, during which the man allegedly accused the young woman of aborting his child.
'Whilst exchanging words, the suspect reportedly uttered the words 'I'll kill you, you have aborted my child'. Fearing for her safety, the woman reported the matter to the police, leading to the suspect's arrest. Investigations into the matter are ongoing,' he explained.
Lokae added the suspect is currently in custody and will appear before Extension 2 Magistrates' Court in not distant future to answer to the charge of threat-to-kill.
The police chief further urged the public to report any cases of threats or domestic abuse to prevent potential harm.
