Rollers were beaten 2-0 by a Nikola Kavazovic-led Sua Flamingoes in a league game played at the Royal Aria Stadium. The defeat has cast the league wide open with four teams heavily in the chase. It remains to be seen if TAFIC will take the honours to the north for the first time in close to two decades, or it will be a third consecutive for Jwaneng Galaxy as Gaborone United looks for the first in three years while Rollers are looking for a record 17th title. Morapedi, however, said with his side dropping to the fourth spot from the first but locked on 42 points with the other competitors, Rollers need to show some bit of hunger to earn the championship. “We lost the game that we needed so much; it is very painful it's a draw back to where we want to go. It is now not convincing. We need to win such games and show the character that indeed we want this. We cannot lose at home, this is very bad for us, it is not good,” said Morapedi. The Blues had the first say with Switberth Kum on his starting debut coming close to an opener in the first 16 minutes. The visitors had sat back and allowed Rollers on the ball. On the overlap, full back, Ngwako Ramokgathi pulled in a low cross for Serati Semadi who gave Sua the lead against the run of play on the 37th minutes.
The visitors took a 1-0 lead to the halftime break. The Blues missed a big chance to go level when Lemogang Maswena was through on goal but his shot missed the goal by a whisker three minutes into the second half. Sua then doubled their lead in a similar fashion. A cross from the right was met by Semadi with a header to make it 2-0 on the 57th minute. It was a Rollers attack from then but the Blues were let down by the finishing. Speaking after the tie, Kavazovic was happy to get one over his former side and said his side executed the plan to perfection. He said Rollers fell in to trap and enjoyed ‘useless possession’ and were caught on the counter attacks. Sua are now fifth and just three points from the leading pack.
