Botswana awarded right to host 2026 World Relays

World Athletics president, Sebastian Coe made the announcement during a press briefing after a council meeting Tuesday. 'We have also just wrapped up two days of council meetings where a number of important decisions have been made, including the confirmation of a number of host cities for our events in the next few years. Gaborone in Botswana is the host of our 2026 World Relays, the first time they will host a world athletics series event,' Coe said. 'The selection of the host cities reaffirms our commitment to hosting events in Africa , and of course our smaller nations,' he added.
