As a result, the suspect's arraignment is still on hold until he is fully recovered, Mogoditshane Police Station commander, Superintendent Mbiganyi Letsholathebe said. A police report alleges that on Saturday evening, he went to Kopong at his colleague's tyre service business looking to collect his debt. Upon arrival, an argument that led to a fight started, Letsholathebe said.
He said whilst fighting, it is alleged that the suspect grabbed bricks and started hitting his colleague, a 58-year-old man, also his senior of the rank Warrant Officer Class 1, leaving him lying motionless. 'Police rushed the deceased to Nkoyaphiri clinic where he was certified dead on arrival by the doctors. Whilst attempting to arrest him, the suspect resisted, fighting the police, and ended up destroying the canopy of a police van. 'In the process he also got hurt and is currently hospitalised after sustaining injuries,' Letsholathebe said.
