The Bank of Botswana invites applications from suitably qualified and self-driven citizens of Botswana to fill the following vacancy:

PROTECTION OFFICER

Main purpose of the job

The main purpose of the job is to protect life and property through effective operation of security systems and compliance with laid down procedures.

Duties of the job

Undertakes reception duties and authorizes entry into the Bank buildings in accordance with established policies and procedures;

Operates and monitors the X-Ray machines and metal detectors to screen staff and visitors as they enter and leave the Bank;

Mans the Control Room and operates security systems to facilitate access authorisation and surveillance;

Conduct investigations on all security breaches and produce a report with findings and recommendations;

Escort visitors and contractors at all Bank facilities;

Captures visitors and contractors’ data into the visitors’ management system and issues them with access cards;

Induct visitors and contractors on the security and safety requirements of the Bank and ensure compliance thereto;

facilitate security vetting and clearance as required by the policies of the Bank and various legal instruments.

Job Requirements

Diploma in Security Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Law or equivalent plus two years post qualification experience. Light Duty, PSV and/or Heavy Duty Driver’s License plus three years of accident free driving experience will be an added advantage.

The most suitable candidate is expected to demonstrate knowledge of security concepts and have: leadership skills; communication skills; problem-solving skills; interpersonal skills; decision-making skills; and good ethical conduct.

REMUNERATION

The Bank of Botswana offers a commensurate package equivalent to market pay.
