Conservation Director Needed for Wildlife Projects in Botswana

for Conservation of Natural Ecosystems Trust- ‘CONNECT’

The Conservation of Natural Ecosystems Trust is looking for an energetic, mature person with a proven passion for the bush and ability to problem solve who wants to lead and oversee conservation projects under challenging conditions and in remote areas. Minimum requirements include 10 years of field experience in wildlife-related project management/research in Botswana, a minimum of 8 years of game capture experience including translocations and animal husbandry; a PhD degree in Biology or Ecology, a proven track record of applying for and managing large grants and donations. Also required is extensive experience in wildlife monitoring including designing and conducting large-scale wildlife surveys, electronic tracking of animals, management of large databases, proficiency in SMART and EarthRanger systems, and proficiency in data analysis tools - R and GIS computer software, a driver’s license with extensive 4x4 experience, strong communication, computer and administrative skills. Applicants must be enthusiastic, hard-working, self-motivated, and dedicated. Please note that this is a 50% field-based position.
