The deceased's aunt, Penah Sewawa, had approached the regional court to interdict the funeral proceedings of his nephew following her strong suspicious that her nephew was killed. She accused the deceased grandfather of allegedly having a hand in her nephew's death. Oratile was found dead on January 14. His lifeless body was found with blood coming out of his ears and a foamy white liquid from his mouth.
The postmortem showed no signs of illness of his organs or abnormalities but his death was consistent with signs of poison ingestion. His aunt then approached the courts to stop the burial and opt for the second autopsy to be performed on the deceased, a temporary order to stop the burial was then granted by the Chief Magistrate Gofaone Morweng. The case was set to resume this morning. However, the aunt made a surprising U-turn as she applied to withdraw the matter. “I have received an application by the applicant that she would wish to withdraw the matter and allow that the burial should continue,” Magistrate Morweng said. “The funeral of Sewawa should now go ahead as it had been planned and the family shall decide on when to bury the deceased now as the rule nisi is withdrawn,” the Magistrate ordered.
