Afro Ventures Botswana (Pty) Ltd T/A andBeyond requires a capable, stable, and energetic Operations Manager - Training. andBeyond is built, almost entirely, on the strength of remarkable people who give passionately to their roles, work tirelessly, and have the guest experience at the core of their focus daily as well as care of both communities and the environment.
Key Outputs:
Ensuring 5-star guest experiences are offered through continuous training and upskilling of staff
Responsible for the financial performance of their specific budget lines
Compilation of specific business units budget lines
Preparation and presentation of budgets and strategy for Botswana Region as they relate to hospitality
Operational business reports to the Regional Manager & Managing Director
Oversight of all the departments at lodge level
Ensure inter-lodge communications and cooperation are maximised.
Hosting of travel agents and VIPs
Hosting, Planning and execution of all group bookings for the Botswana region
Liaising with any group consultants
Set up training targets & achieve the targets for the andBeyond Academy of Kitchen, Housekeeping, Bar & Butler
Ensure staff are continuously trained by BQA accredited trainers and andBeyond Qualified trainers
Oversee and co-ordinate the maintenance of Group and International Hospitality standards inline with BTO grading
Staff skills development and empathy
Responsible for health and safety implementation
Drive community development projects in conjunction with Wild Impact
Drive the Understudy program in conjunction with the HR manager and ensure training goals are met and that every HoD has an Understudy
Conduct all DNA and andBeyond Culture training across the Botswana region ensuring all staff receive the training at least once a year
Qualifications:
A diploma/degree in Tourism Management, Hospitality or equivalent
Knowledge of Microsoft programs
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a hospitality management position
Valid Drivers’ Licence
Up to date Wine & Beverage courses on International trends.
Skills and Personal Characteristics:
An outgoing, warm, friendly personality, with good command of the English language and exceptional communication skills
The ability to work under pressure and the self-motivation to meet deadlines.
High energy levels and great staff motivator
Passionate about creating memorable experiences for individuals.
Good interpersonal skills and superb attention to detail
Excellent financial acumen
Willingness and ability to share information, and to teach and inspire others.
Must be willing to travel extensively in remote areas for extended periods of time
Good knowledge of Southern African countries
