POSITION: Chief Executive Officer
Role Purpose: The company is looking for a dynamic individual with strategic orientation and high business acumen for the position of Chief Executive Officer. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the incumbent will be primarily responsible for ensuring the current and long-term viability of the company, its operational direction and the coordination of relationships at a strategic level to achieve efficiency, growth and general profitability in line with the Company/Group objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Act as an advisor to the Kalahari Floor Tiles Board, and provide critical advice on industry and market issues that are likely to impact the business and ensure efficient co-ordination and execution of the Board.
*Develop strategic and annual business plans and budgets for presentation to the Board of Directors for approval.
*Direct and drive/optimize achievement of the business goals and objectives, and result in increased shareholder value.
*Provide leadership in the development and implementation of specific strategic thrusts to enhance profitability and shareholder value.
*Provide strategic direction on a daily basis in terms of the execution of the approved turnaround strategies to deliver shareholder value on the back of profitable growth.
*Act as Company representative at all relevant stakeholder forums and in all matters legal and economic.
*Ensure that the organizational structure, management team and staff are aligned to implement the strategies and business plan.
*Optimize the business to operate functionally and cost-effectively, thus able to cut costs and drive.
*Develop and introduce profitable and competitive products into the target markets through the various distribution and service channels.
*Maintain the framework for ESG and sustainability in line with those of the holding company.
*Manage the day-to-day activities of the business to meet financial / profitability and related objectives.
*Adhere to statutory reporting and other regulatory requirements.
*Oversee the company’s subsidiaries in Botswana and South Africa (regionally).
*Keeping the Board appraised and informed of all important matters pertaining to the effective operations of the business.
Requirements:
*15-20 years’ specific manufacturing experience in building materials and chemicals, with strong
*understanding of how to run and operate manufacturing units, and also have a solid financial and accounting background, including an understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management and general finance and budgeting.
*Have an appropriate business degree (e.g. B. Comm and/ or MBA).
*In-depth understanding of the manufacturing environment, FMCG industry and how to grow it.
*In-depth understanding of Corporate Governance and business best practices.
*Proven experience as CEO or other senior Exco managerial positions.
*Ability to market and enhance product presence regionally.
*Strong Interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of business.
*Analytical and problem-solving skills.
*The successful candidate must qualify to be appointed to the company’s Board.
*The candidate must meet all regulatory requirements.
