Engineering Manager Role at MP Mining

 

MP Mining is a Mining Contractor for Leboam Holdings (PTY) Ltd which owns Kopano Copper Mine, located in the North-Eastern part of Botswana off Mosetse and Dukwi Villages. The Company is currently looking for results-driven, agile and suitably qualified individuals to fill the below positions:

Engineering Manager

To manage the engineering function by developing strategies that will attain key business objectives.

Responsibilities

*Applying design and engineering expertise to projects and process plants.

*Coordinating and managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams within a mining environment.

*Drive continuous improvement initiatives within engineering processes, workflows and maintenance systems.

*Overseeing the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.

*Ensures maintenance and projects executions are done within timelines, budgets and quality standards.

*Drive process optimisation and operational improvements across in the process plant.

*Reporting on project technical scope performance against the baseline plan.

*Ensuring that all identified contractors are suitably qualified for the delivery of the project.

*Collaborate with contractors to ensure smooth project delivery and compliance.

*Fostering a proactive safety culture and implementation mitigation strategies.

*Ensuring adherence to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures

Job Requirements

*BEng/BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

*At least fifteen (15) years post post-qualification experience in running all mechanical and electrical aspects of a mine.

*PMP/Prince 2 Project Management Certification desirable.

*Extensive experience in relevant industry and familiarity with specific technologies, standards and best practices.

*Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects from conception to completion.

*Experience in building and leading high-performing engineering teams.

*Proficient in using engineering software and tools.

*Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

*Ability to work in a challenging and dynamic environment.
