Afritec is looking for an IT Operations Manager to join the team and assist in developing and deploying technology to improve its product offering.

Job Description:

In this role, you’ll oversee and manage the company’s technology operations and the implementation of new IT systems and policies. You must have a solid understanding of complex computer systems and IT operations, as well as a strong strategic mindset to ensure they align with the Afritec business goals. Collaborate with media organizations and advertising agencies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Oversee all technology operations (e.g., network security) and evaluate them according to established goals.

Develop and implement IT policy and best practice guides for the organization.

Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures.

Ensure IT systems and applications are effective and functioning within the limits of all laws, regulations and practices.

Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in a timely manner.

Audit systems and assess their outcomes.

Preserve assets, information security and control structures.

Manage IT staff by recruiting, training, and coaching employees, communicating job expectations, and appraising their performance.

Evaluate risk and lead quality assurance efforts.

Forecast IT budget and manage expenditure.

Required Experience:

Proven working experience as an IT manager or relevant experience.

Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure.

Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation.

Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting and business operations.

Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

A strong strategic and business mindset.

Excellent organisational and leadership skills.

BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be preferred.

Certifications such as CISM, CISSP or similar will be considered a plus.

Desired Experience:

Understanding of project management and the ability to concurrently oversee multiple service requests.

Familiarity of a support services department.

Understanding and management of prioritisation and workloads.

Experience in managing contracted vendors including SLA’s.

An in-depth understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem and how we might leverage their software stack to enhance our operational efficiency will be an advantage.
