DIVISION HEAD: STRUCTURES
Reporting to the Engineering Services Executive Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development of business opportunities in the sector, preparation of detailed proposals, as well as design and construction management of structural projects in Botswana and other countries in Africa. The incumbent, working closely with the Engineering Services Executive Director will assist with strategic project implementation, tender submission, compliance with quality objectives, risk assessments and budget projections. Dealing with multiple stakeholders, delivering to deadlines and solving complex problems. The successful incumbent may serve as a technical specialist, Project Leader or Senior Engineer for the company.
The incumbent should be a registered Professional Engineer with ERB and have 15-20 years relevant management experience.
SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
Reporting to the Structural Division Head and/or Project Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for all design and supervision aspects of structural and civil projects in Botswana and other African countries, including high rise buildings, liquid retaining structures, reinforced and pre-stressed concrete; steel structures; masonry, timber and other specialist materials.
Your comprehensive knowledge of local and international Standards; thorough understanding of structural engineering first principles; and using various structural analysis and design software is essential; with 3D Modelling (REVIT) an advantage.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified ERB Registered and Practicing Professional Engineer with a minimum of 10-15 years relevant post graduate experience.
SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEERING DESIGN TECHNICIAN
This opportunity will be of interest to a technically qualified Civil Engineering Design Technician in possession of at least a Diploma in Civil Engineering, any Project Management qualification, preferably at Post Graduate level. Proficiency with AutoCAD, AllyCAD, Model Maker, Civils 3D and Civil Designer will be essential. The candidate must also possess in-depth knowledge of local design manuals and specifications such as the BRDM and Standard Specifications for Road and Bridges as well as regional design manuals and specifications.
Successful candidates will liaise with project staff and clients, monitor site works and mentor junior staff.
The candidate must be registered with ERB as a Professional Technician with a minimum of 10-15 years’ experience in large infrastructure and roads projects.
These positions require a hands-on Professionals with strong leadership and communication skills, who is able to confidently and appropriately assert himself/herself, make prudent decisions and effectively solve problems. The candidate will be expected to manage staff, resolve conflict, deliver to deadlines; and maintain quality and ISO standards and procedures. These roles will involve some regional travel.
