Mechanised Farming (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of the Sefalana Group of companies, has an opportunity for the following post. The position is tenable at Mechanised Farming (Pty) Ltd, Broadhurst Industrial, Gaborone.

Position: Field Service Engineer

Responsibilities

  1. Providing locomotive Field service support on electrical and mechanical maintenance issues
  2. Train and Supervise a team of Technicians
  3. Render technical advice to management
  4. Ensure adherence to quality control standards on maintenance of locomotives
  5. Compiling daily locomotive status reports and updating service failure history
  6. Manage work in progress, workflow and job planning on a daily basis
  7. Manage After Sales queries
  8. Making recommendations to management on necessary engineering changes to improve fleet reliability and reduce costs
  9. Skills transfer to locomotive drivers and Botswana railways personnel
  10. Conduct training to Botswana Railways on service complete locomotive overhaul


Desired Experience, Qualification and Education
  1. An ambitious and dynamic person with sound technical & diagnostic knowledge and a proven track record is sought. The applicant must be very serious about “first-time-right” standards and must have a vast experience as a qualified engineer.
  2. Applicant should have obtained a bachelor’s degree in technology and mechanical engineering
  3. Should have a minimum of 10 years of work experience in the locomotive industry
  4. Should possess locomotive problem diagnostics and problem-solving skills
  5. Should have knowledge of EM 2000/ EMDEC control system
  6. Should be Customer oriented and have good communication skills
  7. Must be experienced and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
