MP Mining is a Mining Contractor for Leboam Holdings (PTY) Ltd which owns Kopano Copper Mine, located in the North-Eastern part of Botswana off Mosetse and Dukwi Villages. The Company is currently looking for results driven, agile and suitably qualified individuals to fill the below positions:
1. Mineral Resource Evaluation Manager
Main purpose of the job
Manage and evaluate the mineral resources of MP Mining and to provide geological geostatistical input for mineral resource determination, mine planning and reconciliation.
To apply mineral resource estimation methodology and render geostatistical consulting support service to operations, exploration projects and diligence activities.
Responsibilities
Ensures that the quality assurance and quality control of database input is of the acceptable standard to support mineral resource modelling and estimation
Undertakes geological modelling for MP Mining as well as projects
Conduct audit reviews for models
Undertakes resource estimation as well as projects
Act as custodian for annual mineral resources and reserve reports
Undertakes reviews of geological data and resource evaluation of exploration projects
Monitor, train and upskill resource Geologists at the operation
Job requirements
Bachelor of Science in Geology or equivalent as well as qualifications in Geostatistics.
Graduate Diploma in Mining Engineering (recommended)
15 years mining geology experience of which 10 years mineral estimation and management a must. Professional training in geostatistics is also essential.
Experience in using mineral resource evaluation software/geological software.
Experience in reporting according to JORC/NI43101 standards.
Competent person to sign off Mineral Resource and Reserves on behalf of the
Company
Membership with a recognised Professional body.

2. Process Specialist/Trainer
Overall, Purpose of the Job
In the role of Process Specialist/Trainer, you’ will focus on erection, commissioning and optimisation of the new process equipment. You will spearhead initiatives to optimize process plant efficiency through the meticulous formulation and execution of a dynamic training and development strategy tailored specifically for the new process facility (DMS, crushers, gravity concentrators and mill). Integration of the new process facility with the old process facility and conducting exhaustive training needs assessments for the process plant team. You will also be required to deliver enlightening training sessions, devising and implementing a comprehensive training blueprint, nurturing skill enhancement, and fostering an environment of operational excellence within the process plant.
Responsibilities:
Erection, commissioning and optimisation of the new equipment (DMS, crushers gravity concentrators and mill).
Integration of the new and existing equipment.
Monitor, train and upskill process and engineering teams.
Design and develop cutting-edge training aids and materials, leveraging innovative approaches to enhance learning outcomes.
Identify and improve process operations to maximise on productivity.
Conduct meticulous training needs assessments to discern l plant operator characteristics, skill levels, job contexts, and to meticulously identify requisite processes and tasks.
Job Requirements:
Certificate in Metalliferous Mining Operations (Processing)
In-depth experience in isolation permits, and pre-commissioning checks.
A minimum of 15 years’ experience to cover but not limited to the erection, commissioning and optimisation of various process equipment (crushers, screens, magnetic separators, cyclones, mills, and filters, gravity concentrator circuit)
A minimum of fifteen (15) years of hands-on experience in technical training facilitation within processing and fixed plant maintenance, showcasing a rich and diverse expertise.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
Knowledge of SCADA systems.
