BACKGROUND

Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is a seven-year global project funded by U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). EpiC receives COVID-19 funding to prevent, prepare for, respond to and bolster health systems to address COVID-19 and reduce cases of re-emergence. EpiC Botswana provides technical assistance (TA) to the Ministry of Health (MOH) for The Global Fund to fight HIV, TB and Malaria (GF). The country started receiving funds from GF in 2016 under the new funding model and is currently implementing a three year (2022-2024) multicomponent grant, which includes the COVID-19 scope. Activities include risk communication and community engagement (RCCE), Integration of COVID-19 into routine care, HIV mitigation during COVID-19 era, strengthening healthcare systems, human rights post COVID-19, prevention of GBV (Gender Based Violence) and monitoring and evaluation of COVID-19 implementation.

Overview of COVID-19 CONTENT TRANSLATION SERVICES

EpiC is currently supporting the RCCE team at MOH to translate existing COVID-19 materials from English language to local languages being Sekgalagadi, Sembukushu and Sekalaka. Once developed, the materials will be distributed to these communities to increase awareness about COVID-19.

NOTE: Each consultant should apply towards provision of services to translate only one (1) language.

Detailed Scope of Work

The main task or objective of this activity is to translate materials from existing COVID-19 content to Sekgalagadi, Sembukushu and Sekalaka.

Content to be translated:

Item 1: Size A4. Content size; printed back-to-back.

Item 2: Size A4, Content size; printed back-to-back.

Item 3: Size A4, Content size; printed on front only.

Item 4: Size A2. Content: Title, maximum of 5 sentences.

Deliverables:

All consultants shall be expected to attend the project orientation meeting, which is to be held in Gaborone at a date to be communicated to successful candidates only.

Activity deliverables to be included in the quote/bid are:

A daily rate in BWP for ten (10) days for the translation of the content and attendance of 2 consultative meetings as required.

Design and print of the content with the following specifications:

Item 1: Size A4. Content size; printed back-to-back. (50 copies.)

Item 2: Size A4, Content size; printed back-to-back. (225 copies.)

Item 3: Size A4, Content size; printed on front only. (225 copies.)

Item 4: Size A2. Content: Title, maximum of 5 sentences. (450 copies.)

All documents shall be printed on glossy paper, 250gsm.
