Mogoditshane Police Station commander, Superintendent Boemo Bok said in an accident that occurred at around midnight near Super Save along A12 Road (Mogoditshane/Molepolole), a 29-year-old cyclist was hit by a Madza Demio that was driven by a 35-year-old woman whilst driving in between vehicles.
Bok said the deceased was rushed to Nkoyaphiri clinic where he was certified dead on arrival by doctors. In another fatal accident that occurred near Top Centre in Metsimotlhabe at around 1am, Bok said a 31-year-old woman, who was a pedestrian, was hit by a car while attempting to cross the road the same early morning.
He stated that even though investigations into the matter are ongoing to establish what really transpired, the deceased was hit by a Toyota Land Rover that was driven by a 48-year-old man whilst attempting to cross the road. “There are bars across the road in that area, we frequently record cases in which pedestrians are hit by motor vehicles crossing from one side of the road to the other, in that area,” Bok said.
“We do not know if people recklessly cross the road there intoxicated or what could be behind the frequent pedestrian fatal accident around that area.”
