Gabz Teachers' Day celebration receives P80,000 sponsorship

The total amount is a joint sponsorship from Absa Botswana, which contributed P50,000, and Bayport Financial Services, which provided P30,000, to commemorate the teachers' day on June 7.

In his address, he reiterated that this year's event is more than just a tribute to teachers, as it is also about fostering a constructive outlook amongst the lot.

'This year's theme, 'Positive Teacher Mindset, a Key to the 21st Century Learner,' resonates deeply with the mission to cultivate an environment where positivity flourishes,' he Ponoesele. Furthermore, he emphasised the pivotal role teachers play as facilitators of learning and stressed the importance of maintaining a positive outlook.

'Our aim is to celebrate Teachers' Day in a manner that promotes positivity and shapes teachers' mindsets for the better, it is crucial for educators to approach their profession with clarity and positivity, as they mould the minds of future generations,' Ponoesele remarked. Bayport Financial Services' Regional Sales Manager, Mmapula Kablay, underscored the company's commitment to supporting educators. 'We believe it is essential to back teachers as they are instrumental in nurturing future leaders and community figures,' said Kablay.

Highlighting the rationale behind Bayport's sponsorship, Kablay emphasised the importance of equipping teachers with the right mindset for effective teaching. 'By supporting Teachers' Day, we aim to provide educators with resources to refresh and realign their mindset, ensuring they are better prepared to impart knowledge,' Kablay explained.

Ponoesele emphasised that the celebration will include talks and games to help keep teachers' minds positive. He further highlighted that the aim is for the Gaborone region to continue being the best in the country, referring to it as the region of excellence. He affirmed that the upcoming celebration will be a way to foster a clear mindset.

'We are excited to announce that our celebration will feature engaging talks and fun games, all aimed at uplifting our teachers' spirits. Our goal is to maintain Gaborone's status as the 'region of excellence,' and this event will serve as a catalyst for fostering a positive mindset among our educators,' Ponoesele said.
