Speaking at a dinner hosted for the stakeholders who included the traffic police, doctors, media, Botswana Post, Department of Transport and Road Safety, paramedics and others, Kgosidiile said the origin of the MVAF Act dates back to around 1986.
He told the stakeholders that the new Act would emphasise road safety and rehabilitation of victims of road accidents.
'One of our plans is to take the Fund to the people so that the stakeholders appreciate all what we are doing.'
He said their desire is to work speedily and in conformity with the provisions of the new Act.
The MVAF has plans to open two offices in Palapye and Kanye, which will complement the work of the existing Gaborone, Francistowm and Maun offices.
'Our focus will have emphasis on service delivery in an endeavour to reach customer satisfaction.'
MVAF customer services manager Mpule Ditirwa took the stakeholders through the 2008-2012 strategic plan. She said that without the strategic partners, 'there is no way our dream can materialise'.
She said that the 2008-2012 strategic plan is the Fund's second and its focus is on the key interventions the MVAF will undertake to consolidate its presence as an organisation in the road safety and social security sector.
She further outlined the scope of the plan, plan lifecycle, strategic direction and values, amongst other things.
Amongst the strategic objectives, which she said were central to their business, she listed the increase of revenue base, increase customer satisfaction, and improve stakeholder relations and others.
She also highlighted that the new MVA Act pays attention to rehabilitation and promotion of road safety, which would become a fantasy if stakeholders like the police and others were not an integral part.
