The initiative, set to unfold over the next few years, aims to employ around 100 graduates in the next three to five years.

The RPC Capability Centre will provide software consulting, customer relationship management, Information Technology and other services, leveraging Botswana's graduate talent pool. The centres will focus on training and retooling graduates to meet industry demands.

RPC Data hopes to see the centres become hubs of excellence in required technologies, helping Botswana transform into the SADC region's hub for technology by 2028 while contributing to the National Vision 2036 and sustainable economic development.

Speaking at the launch on Tuesday, RPC Data Managing Director Komal Rao said the vision behind the initiative is to leverage local talent and drive innovation within the region.

“We recognise the immense potential that resides within our youth," he said. “Through our Capability Centres, we aim to harness this potential, not just for the benefit of our organisation but as a catalyst for economic growth and technological advancement in Botswana and beyond."

Rao underscored the transformative impact of the initiative, highlighting its multifaceted approach to talent development and industry collaboration.

“Our commitment to partnering with universities, providing comprehensive training programmes, and offering employment opportunities to graduates, underscores our belief in the power of education and innovation," the MD said. “By nurturing a new generation of tech professionals, we are not just building capabilities within our organisation, but contributing to the broader socio-economic fabric of our nation."

Rao highlighted that with RPC Data's visionary initiative poised to set new benchmarks in talent management and technology-driven innovation, the stage is set for a future where Botswana emerges as a global hub for technological excellence.

"We envision our Capability Centers as tech hubs for the country and the region that combine and encompass the objectives of both employment and talent management," Rao remarked. "They represent a testament to our dedication to growth, innovation, and the limitless potential of Botswana's youth."
