Inspired by her love for Setswana language and culture, Lovy's book aims at educating and entertaining children through the use of word puzzles and crosswords. Lovy shared her writing PUO LETLOTLO experience with Arts&Culture. “My name, Gaegalalwe, sparked my interest in exploring the significance of Setswana language.

I realised that many children today do not appreciate the richness of our culture, so I wanted to create a fun and interactive way to teach them Setswana grammar and traditions,” she explained. PUO LETLOTLO is the first book of its kind to be written and published in Setswana, making it a valuable resource for children to learn the language.

The author said she conducted extensive research to ensure that the puzzles were both educational and entertaining. “I wanted to create a book that would not only teach Setswana language but also develop problem-solving skills among children,” she said. The journey of writing PUO LETLOTLO was not without its challenges.

For instance, Lovy said she faced difficulties putting the puzzles together and securing finances for publication. However, through perseverance and determination, she was able to overcome the obstacles and bring his vision to life. Since its publication in mid-2022, PUO LETLOTLO has been well-received by readers and educators alike. The book covers various aspects of Setswana culture, traditions, and customs through word puzzles and short stories. “PUO LETLOTLO serves as a reminder that our native language is important and should be treasured,” Lovy emphasised.

Asked about the impact she hopes PUO LETLOTLO will have on readers, Lovy expressed her desire for children to appreciate their cultural heritage. “I hope this book will inspire young minds to embrace Setswana language and take pride in their roots as Batswana,” she stated. “PUO LETLOTLO stands as a testament to Lovy’s passion for promoting Setswana culture through innovative educational resources. The book is not only a valuable tool for children learning the language but also a celebration of the rich heritage that defines the identity of Botswana.” She said.
