KTM celebrates life of Jesus Christ

The event was held at the Maitisong Amphitheatre in Maruapula on Saturday.
The night kick started with worship songs where the audience was taken through the life of Jesus Christ till his death. The first session was dubbed The Passion of Christ. Even though many members wore white robes with different colour scarfs tied around their waists, two men wore red kilts and matching helmets, giving the setting a feel of the Jewish Christians back in the past.
The combination of setting, lighting and beautiful melodies worked magic. It drove revellers from being spiritually connected to being emotional as the choir’s sweet melodies aroused their spirits. Towards the end of the first session, the pastor took the audience through Jesus Christ’s journey on earth till his death and his waking up to his spiritual journey. He preached that as long as they had faith and believed in the Lord, anything was possible and would solve all their problems. He continued blessing them saying all their sicknesses would be healed and they would attain jobs and other needs.
They sang hymns such as Fa Dijong, Mongwe Wa Lona O Tla Ntshwarisa and others. In their second session, the choir came back strongly with praising hymns that filled the room with happiness as they celebrated Jesus Christ. The choir changed from their robes to modern outfits where men wore black suits and white shirts while females wore sky blue beautiful dresses while some wore white ones.
The choir also partnered with some of the local gospel talents who won awards and made a great mark in the gospel industry in the likes of Tshepo Lesole, Sesame and Shinkie who later shared the stage and gave the revellers who were in spirit a performance of a lifetime. Before sharing the stage, each artist treated the audience to their popular songs while the choir backed them.
The trio each treated the audience who by the time the event was over did not want to go, with a very powerful and energetic performance. On their collaborative performance, each artist sung ‘Ke Madi a Konyana’ in a different version. Sesame holds multiple accolades such as Female Gospel Newcomer Award 2019, finalist for Best New Album at the Annual Gospel Awards (AGA).
She also shared a stage amongst top artists such as South African Gospel icon Omega, Psalmist Jimmy D from Nigeria, and several other Botswana artists. On the other hand, Shinkie is the performer known for his unique bold voice that sits well with Tswana, Xhosa and English hymns. His songs Ke Lakatsa and Moya Waka have touched hearts of many Batswana.
He also won a couple of awards in his gospel music career; Best Song of The Year 2022 Gospel Music Awards, Best Gospel Collaboration and many more. He also shared the stage with a number of renowned artists both internationally and locally. Furthermore, Lesole is also a prominent gospel artist famed with his song Nkabo Kele Kae and many more. He has also scooped a number of awards.
