Police XI move out of relegation zone

The Jungle Kings have now moved from the bottom three and secured position 13 before they take on Gaborone United (GU) this Wednesday. It was Police XI's fourth victory this season out of 19 matches. Before the Matebele encounter, Police XI last registered a win in January against Masitaoka. They have so far collected 19 points. Holy Ghost, who suffered a 1-0 loss to TAFIC on Friday have now dropped to position 14, joining Morupule Wanderers and Nico United in the bottom three positions. Nico remain rooted at the bottom with 15 points after suffering a 2-1 defeat to defending champions, Jwaneng Galaxy. The Selebi Phikwe based side has only registered two victories in 19 matches this season. Wanderers on the other hand have collected 16 points and current sit at position 15 after the 3-1 loss to GU on Saturday. This Wednesday, Nico United take on Holy Ghost in what is expected to be a thrilling relegation battle at VTM Arena. Wanderers will be away to Orapa United.

Meanwhile the race for the league title remains tight at the top after both Galaxy and Township Rollers won their matches this past weekend. Galaxy came back after trailing to beat Nico 2-1 with the winning goal coming in the referee's additional time. They retained their position at the summit of the league table with 47 points from 18 games. Rollers on the other hand have played 19 games and have so far collected 46 points. They trailed twice against Eleven Angels but went onto win 4-2 with Mogakolodi Ngele striking twice in the second half. GU are also still very much in the race despite a gap of 10 points separating them and log leaders, Galaxy.
