That was after playing to 1-1 draw on Saturday in a Debswana First Division South League match in Tlokweng. With only five games left, Mothibi stated that Magosi will incessantly chase the log leaders and collect maximum points. “Yeah, five games to go; this was a game we should have won to close the gap. But we will still keep on fighting, aluta continua until the last game. We are far from giving up.

Tough game that was very close with not many chances. But I am happy that we managed to at least walk out with a point. But this was a game we should have won to close the gap because we could have gone up to second place,” Mothibi said. The two teams had a quite day in the office without having a sniff at a goal more especially in the first half.

After the lacklustre first half, Tlokweng United broke the deadlock four minutes after coming back from the half time break. Koketso Kufigwa hit the net through a towering header to beat goalkeeper, Tshenolo Letshelea. After making substitutions, Magosi started probing for an equaliser with the final third decisions letting them down. On the 75th minute, Chiefs’ forward Legend Monyake missed the chance to level matters after an open net opportunity with the goalkeeper down.

After searching for the equaliser, on the 81st minute Gofaone Molapi slotted one in through a powerful header. With only eight minutes left on the clock, the two teams kept on attacking, searching for a winning goal, but time was not on their side as the game ended 1-1. Despite missing out on a chance to collect maximum points, Tlokweng United head coach, Gaopatwe Seosenyeng, was happy to walk away with a point. “We were leading and we committed an unnecessary foul that cost us but we cannot focus on that because we are a team that keeps on fighting. We were once at the bottom of the league table but now we are up there. A point is okay,” he said.
