Earlier today, Mthimkhulu was due to address a Botswana delegation at the High Commission here on the country’s position regarding the second reading of the United Kingdom’s Trophies Hunting (Importation Prohibition) Bill.

According to the British Parliament, the renewed Hunting Trophies (Import Prohibition) Bill, will undergo first reading today, then be debated at a second reading on Friday, March 22 in the House of Commons, the lower of the UK’s two legislative houses.

A coalition of like-minded countries, Botswana, Namibian, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe have joined forces as peers to oppose the proposed Bill which would greatly discourage hunters from visiting African countries. .

Botswana and her peers vehemently oppose the Bill and have living stories to support their positions.

Botswana is in London to tell its story of conservation, human-wildlife interactions and the benefits accrued from the relationship.
