The fallen giants, who are playing in the Debswana First Division South league, confirmed through a statement that Nthaga resigned last night (Thursday) but could not divulge the reasons for his departure. He will be replaced by his assistant at the club. “Thatayamodimo Tebele, who has been his assistant, will lead the team as the head coach,” the club confirmed through a press statement.

Tebele’s first assignment will be an away fixture against log leaders, Jwaneng Young Stars, on Sunday. Nthaga re-joined Notwane in January following a short stint at the Botswana Premier League side, Masitaoka. He replaced Omphemetse ‘Fowler’ Setswe who was relieved of his duties following a string of disappointing results.

However despite his return, Notwane continued to struggle grinding results and now find themselves living dangerously at position 11 with 14 points from 15 games. They have registered only three wins this season despite being seen as one of the favourites to gain promotion at the beginning of the season. Nthaga becomes the second coach in the Debswana First Division South league to resign this week after Daniel ‘Chicco’ Nare dumped Extension Gunners.
