The accident involved a 35-year-old motorist of a Toyota sedan, which was heading towards Sikwane. Divisional Traffic Officer for South Central, Assistant Commissioner Reginald Matlhaba, reported that the woman is currently recovering at Deborah Retief Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

“She was rushed to the hospital by the driver following the accident,” Matlhaba told The Monitor. “The accident occurred at around 9:45am and we don't know the circumstances leading to the victim being hit by the car. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.” Matlhaba urged both the pedestrians and motorists to be cautious, emphasising the need for shared responsibility on the roads to prevent avoidable accidents.
