Dibete police intercept suspected dagga dealers

During the search, Dibete police discovered the quartet in possession of suspected dagga weighing approximately 15kg in a bag hidden inside the car they were driving. Dibete Police Station commander, Superintendent Meshack Ranku said the quartet was driving from south to north when their car was stopped for a search at around 9pm.

The four individuals are a 42-year-old man from Extension 7, Palapye, a 34-year-old man from Flowertown, Mahalapye, a 35-year-old man from Phaleng ward, Shoshong, and a 52-year-old man from Ditimamodimo ward, Mmaphashalala.

Meanwhile, a 38-year-old man from Letswere ward, Mookane village, has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 17-year-old girl from Ditimamodimo ward, Palla Road.

The suspect was arrested at Mookane village following the teenage girl's parents' suspicion that she was in a relationship with the accused.

Dibete station commander, Superintendent Ranku said that when interrogated by her parents, the teenager disclosed being in a romantic relationship with the suspect and they then reported the matter to the police.

The police boss further stated that the suspect is currently in police custody for investigations and is facing a charge of defilement.
