Mabala a kgaka, a recently released single by African Yard is expected to light up the music scene with its uniqueness and intense Afro house beats. In this banging love song, the music band from Mahalapye worked with the amazing all-round creative and vocalist Thato Tladi.

The band comprises three talented artists, a drummer named Tezani Chivoto also known as Catel, percussionist Ronald Koko (Rony) and a DJ, Donald Koko popularly known as Dony’k. Furthermore, they have featured Yarona FM Awards Best Dance Single nominee, Thato Tladi. Tladi who has immense vocal, song writing and guitarist skills was nominated for the Yarona FM Awards in 2023 for his track called Nkatumele, which had taken the local music scene by storm. In an interview with Arts&Culture, Catel explained that Mabala a Kgaka is essentially a love letter encased in song.

He further said that the song is an expression of one's deep emotions and willingness to give a relationship another shot. African Yard has performed on stage alongside numerous international artists including Naak Musiq, Zakes Bantwini, Mafikizolo and many others.

On the local scene, they have worked with A.T.I., Franco, Latimmy, Vee Mampeezy, Han-C, to name but a few. African Yard, a former dance clique, was founded in a high school. Three boys got together at the time to form Storm Da Yard, also known as S.D.Y. and brought exquisite art to the entertainment industry with their amazing dance moves.

The ensemble has advanced to the Botswana Street Jive semifinals and has won multiple competitions, including Serowe, Mahalapye Ultimate Dancing Battles, and Epic Dancing Competition, all of which were hosted in Gaborone. The trio's introduction to musical instruments such as drums and disk jockey in the year 2017 resulted in the development of a new musical career and the assembly of African.
