In a recent interview with The Monitor, Kesupile said investigations into the matter are ongoing to determine what exactly transpired. He indicated that it was reported that the space cookies were brought in by one student from home.

Kesupile further stated that, upon searching the students' classroom, they found a sachet containing a powder-like substance.

The same powder was sent to the forensic lab. "We are currently awaiting results which will determine the cause of action to be followed," he said. Last week, it was reported that about five Form One students at Selolwe Hill JSS were rushed to Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital after eating what is suspected to be space cookies and biscuits laced with marijuana. The students were reported to have experienced hallucinations and became hysterical.

The same students caused havoc on the school premises during the morning tea break, screaming and even stripping themselves naked. This behaviour was likely a result of consuming the alleged drug-laced cookies.
