The win revived Sebatana's promotion aspirations. Killer Giants have been firing blanks recently after a fantastic first round and this has put their promotion chances in jeopardy.
Prisons could have toppled Killer Giants from the top spot if they won the match but they did not play good football and wasted the few opportunities they created. But Sebatana made their intentions known as early as the first minute scoring through Edwin Oreeng who caught Prisons XI defenders totally off guard. Thabo Ntsiapane in Prisons goal was still trying to settle in the game when Oreeng slammed home.
Immediately after the goal, Prisons XI found themselves under pressure again and Moitshepi Mogala nearly conceded an own goal when trying to clear danger. Fortunately, he only conceded a corner kick.
But 28 minutes after Oreeng's goal luck fell at Prisons' door and Moses Magwaneng took full advantage to level the scores. Seven minutes before the halftime break, Giants were rewarded when Othusitse Mosanawe netted to give the Ramotswa side a 2-1 advantage. Once again, Ntsiapane was at fault for unnecessarily leaving his line while his defence was intact.
From the break, Giants stepped-up the pressure, forcing their opponents into a tight corner but captain Donald Mopako and Lenyatso Diseko were wasteful in font of goal. Mosanawe was a constant terror to the Prisons' defence and in the 60th minute he supplied Oreeng with a perfect pass after spotting Ntsiapane off his line but Kabelo Kgosiang was well positioned to clear the danger. From there it was more pressure from the Ramotswa team. Obakeng Phuduhudu coming on in the 73rd minute forced a corner from Ntsiapane with a curling shot. Another second half substitute, Wedu Mpugwa caused havoc for Prisons just after coming on. No sooner had the dread locked midfielder entered the pitch, than he received a pass on the right and took a few steps before bending the ball to the left. The pass was met by the stocky Diseko who made amends from his earlier mistakes by looping the ball over the advancing Ntsiapane into an empty net. Although the loss has dented Prisons' chances of promotion, they are not out of the three-horse race that also features Mochudi Buffaloes.
